Valentine's Day

This is the Valentine's day card I made this year.

I started with a pencil sketch:
It's really rough and was fairly small, but you can see the ideas forming a bit.
Then I started to create the image digitally. It was a combination of vector art, done in illustrator-the trees and their roots- followed by a bit of hand painting in photoshop.
This is the vector drawing I exported from photoshop
It doesn't look nearly as good without the slight shadows beneath the roots, which I painted in afterwards.

Some guy.

Monkey's Paw part Two

Here's another character from The Monkey's Paw by W. W. Jacobs.
The colours got screwed up when I put this on the blog, for some reason.

Google Doodle

This was not, and never shall be, actually featured on the Google homepage. But it is meant to follow the design of a Google doodle (that's the official name of any visual variation on the Google logo).
The theme this revolves around is the writings of the author P. G. Wodehouse, of whom I am a fan.

Cards, Part One.

This is the style of art that I normally go for with cards these days, cut out collages of paper and that, anything with a nice texture or pattern that I have lying around my house.

This One I did for Mother's day last year. I did another mother's day card at the same time with a deer, and I'll be posting that one in a while.

The Monkey's Paw, Part One

I've drawn three of the characters from the short story "The Monkey's Paw", by W.W. Jacobs.
First, it's the main character, Mr. White.

Renaissance Minstrel

That thing he's playing, sort of a violin with a knob sticking out the side, is called a hurdy gurdy.
